Bayside Library and Westminster Canterbury are providing a brain-fitness program for older adults designed to maximize physical, mental, and social well-being through fun, stimulating activities. 

Come and enjoy a craft that you and your child can participate in between storytimes. Each Make & Take Craft will be based off of something that was learned in storytime and further enrich your child's knowledge. Ages 2-3 with caregiver.

Bring your babies to explore different artistic styles. Please come dressed in attire that can get messy. Ages 6-24 months with caregiver. Registration is required.

Make new art while you make new friends!  Join us for coloring club on the fourth Thursday of the month.  We will have crayons, colored pencils, coloring sheets, blank paper, and fun music. Age 3-8 with caregiver.

Get those fingers working! Build hand/eye coordination and muscles in your child's hand. Practice skills like cutting with scissors, writing, and drawing with fun learning activities. Ages 3 - 7. Registration is required.

Join us for a beginner-friendly workshop to make a spring-themed "impossible" card using the Silhouette Cameo die cutting machine. Basic computer skills are required, and please bring a flash drive to save your work.

Have you ever wanted to learn a new hobby but found yourself with a collection of unfinished supplies from past projects? This month try your hand at needle felting painting. All supplies provided.

Come celebrate Earth Day by decorating Kempsville's Poet-ree.  Learn about basic rhyme structure, hear some famous nature poems, play with magnetic poetry and make a unique art piece to hang in our Youth area.  Grades 2-5.

Join us for an afternoon of crochet and other crafting activities. Bring your own project or start something new. Crochet supplies are provided.

Celebrate National Poetry Month by turning the page of an old book into your own poetic statement. Pens, markers and paints help to provide visual enhancements to your unique vision. All materials will be provided. Adults 18+.

For blossoming young artists with a pencil! Come to this Drawing Club for Kids to draw and hang out. This relaxed environment is inclusive and will have themed challenges/drawing games available to participant in.

Do you have rhythm? Do you want to whack a stick on the ground? Come join our boomwhacker class where you'll work together to play a song. A "boomwhacker" is a tuned, percussion tube created for spirited music-making!
