Trace the early development of the steelpan instrument and the contentious issues related to its invention and expansion. This interactive program by Mosaic Steel Orchestra takes students on a musical journey, from a look at how steelpans were developed and the changing attitudes of the instrument throughout the years to the spread of steelpan throughout the world. All ages. Registration is required. These performances/workshops are funded through the Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission and Helen G. Gifford Foundation.
