Reading is an adventure--and so is kayaking. Virginia Beach Public Library and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation are partnering  to combine reading and kayaking for another exciting book discussion!

Meet us at Lake Lawson/Lake Smith, 5381 Shell Road (off Northampton Blvd.) to leave the dock by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Note: rain date is Sunday, June 15, 2025. 

We will discuss "The Island" by Adrian McKinty, a New York Times Best Thriller book. 

Book club books are available in print and large print format and audiobook to pick up at the Central Library for registered participants. 

Kayak beginners welcome. Participants are required to sign a liability waiver at the location/event. 

All registered participants will receive an email before the event with important information.

Adults. Registration is required.
