Tuesday Movie Matinee: Women's History Month

Ruth Bader Ginsburg '59 was first female tenured professor at Columbia Law School and the second woman to serve as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. She was an advocate for gender equality for all. She fought valiantly for equal pay for women and men whose wives were in the military, and for widowers to receive the same Social Security benefit that widows received. Her famous quote “we do not want special favors, just take your feet off our necks” originally came from abolitionist Sarah Grimke.
